Description
In Minerals, Andrea Mancini (*1989) explores the geology of Luexembourg. For this purpose he visited abandoned mines, laboratories and other geological sites with the geologist Natascha Kuhlmann to make video and sound recordings. The result of these recordings, edited by using AI technology and modular synthesis, is an immersive installation and performance that examines the allure of minerals - in the case of Luxembourg, of iron ore - for humans.
Andrea Mancini's work is multidisciplinary, exploring the relationship between space, form and the realm of sound by means of installations, which he activates through performance. In collaboration with the multidisciplinary collective Every Island, Mancini exhibits in the Luxembourg pavilion at the 60th International Biennale in Venice.
This video installation contains flashes of light that could trigger seizures for people with visual sensitivities.
